👀KNOW THIS: The City of Charleston announced the purchase of a new piece of technology Wednesday that it says will help keep the city's downtown streets clean. The "Glutton" street vacuum cost the city $27,000 from Joe Johnson Equipment. Designed in 1996 in Belgium, the battery-powered electric street vacuum will be used to keep heavily traversed parts of the city clean, specifically King Street from Spring Street to Broad Street, Market Street, and King Street to East Bay Street. The streets will be cleaned from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday and the goal is to purchase another one so they can patrol 7 days a week.
